Intel, geçtiğimiz günlerde NVIDIA tarafından kamuoyuna duyurulan Ion platformuna Atom işlemcisini sunmayacağını açıkladı. NVIDIA’nın Intel Atom işlemcisiyle çalıştığında Netbook olarak anılan mini-dizüstü bilgisayarlar ve düşük fiyatlı taşınabilir masaüstü sistemler için yüksek grafik işlem kapasitesi sunabilecek yonga platformu Ion’a Intel’in yanıtı olumsuz oldu. “Atom işlemcileri ancak Intel yonga platformlarıyla kullanılabilir”.

Intel, yayınladığı bir bültene düşük enerji tüketimi ve yüksek verim prensibine dayanarak geliştirdiği işlemci modeli Atom’un ancak kendi yonga setleriyle kullanılabileceğini belirtti.
