NVIDIA, Ion platformunu tanıttı

Entegre devre ve çip üreticisi NVIDIA, Netbook bilgisayarlarda performansı bir adım öteye taşıyacak yeni bir platformun duyurusunu yaptı. NVIDIA, duyurduğu Ion platformu ile küçük ekran, hafif kasa ve düşük fiyatlarıyla son bir yıldır bilgisayar endüstrisinin taşlarını yerinden oynatan Netbook platformunun performansını yükseltmeyi hedefliyor.

Netbooklar, küçük tasarımlı bilgisayarlar ve monitöre entegre modeller için geliştirildiği ifade edilen NVIDIA Ion platformu, Intel Atom işlemciyle birlikte NVIDIA GeForce 9400 grafik işlemci ünitesini (GPU) birleştiriyor.

Bu kombinasyonla 1080p HD (Full-HD) video oynatmaktan sıradan bir Netbook’un çalıştırması mümkün olmayan 3 boyutlu oyunları oynatmaya da olanak tanıyan Ion, Windows Vista ve Windows 7 işletim sistemleri ile uyumlu.

NVIDIA, yeni platformdaki ekran kartı çözümünün Netbook’ların tercih edilmesindeki en önemli etken olan pil ömrünü olabilecek en düşük şekilde etkileyeceğini ifade ediyor.

Yeni platformla birlikte Netbook’lar kullanıcıların bilgisayarlarıyla internette gezmek ve metin dosyası işlemek gibi kullanımları dışında fotoğraf düzenlemek, yüksek tanımlı (Full HD) videolar izlemek gibi farklı kullanım ihtiyaçlarına da cevap verebilecek.
